I like to "discover" new places -- give the little guy some business if you will -- here is a page I came across today -- please tell me how cute this stuff is!!!

Picture Love

Since my last two post didn't have pictures -- I feel an urgent need to put some up! I absolutly looove pictures, I love taking them, I love looking at them, I love them!

I picked out some cute random pics I thought you might enjoy --

This is Hannah and I in our matching aprons. One of Ryan's cousins gave them to us at a wedding shower -- Our initials are engraved on the top and we LOVE to wear them while backing cookies and cupcakes and making Kool-Aid.

This was my absolute favorite part of my wedding. Ryan and I choose to do unity sand instead of candles and thought it would be perfect that have Hannah pour some too -- considering we were all three uniting into one big family! I poured Green, Hannah did White, and Ryan did Black. It was SUCH a special time for me!

This is when I got the WILD idea to dye my hair dark. First and Last time I will do that. Some people liked it -- or so they said -- but it just wasn't for me! (excuse my husbands face in this picture, its like pulling teeth to get a NORMAL picture out of him.)

This was our first family picture together. We were outside of Ironwood Grill about 3 years ago and my step-mom shot it for us. I think it is so cute because of Hannah's face! She looks THRILLED! haha

This is me and my two sisters -- Jessica is on the left, Kaite is on the right. I love this pic of us three. They both live in Louisiana so it is rare for us to be able to get together!

Is this not the best picture?! That is my sweet baby boy Spike -- I was reading a book in bed and got all cozy with me!

This is my big boy, Axel. He is a daddy's boy for sure, but when momma gets the camera he comes a running! He loooves to get really close to the camera for some weird reason, so most of my pics of him are just his head because he wont back up!

This is the bench in Austin, TX Ryan and I got engaged on! We had walked around and shopped and needed a break, so we sat down to relax and BAM he was on one knee!! It was ammmmazing. (yes, he made fun of me for taking a picture of the bench!)

Ryan absolutly loves this picture. He has been teaching Hannah how to skate and skateboard since the day she could walk. He has skateboarded most of his life and wants Hannah to be a skater girl! She looks sooo adorable doing it too!

This is what happens when you tell Hannah to hurry, hurry, hurry, put your shoes on!! OOOps, might should give her a little extra time! ;)

Me and my baby doing what we do best --- LOOKING LIKE IDIOTS!!

Have a good rest of the week!!

I always see these questioner thingys on other blogs so I thought I would steal one and do it myself!! So, here goes nothing --

Are you a collector of anything?

HAHA -- Only EVERYTHING under the sun per my hubby! And no, I'm not a hoarder. I collect coffee mugs, tea pots, Marilyn Monroe stuff, peacock stuff, and owl stuff. ;) I feel like after saying this I should probably do a post of my house so you can see for yourself that IT ISN'T AS BAD AS IT SOUNDS!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Oooooh I dunno! Maybe, fly?? No, cause I'm scared of heights. Oh I know, read peoples minds!! I would love to know what people were thinking when something crazy comes out of my mouth.

What's your favorite color?

Do you believe in extraterrestrials or life on other planets?

Do you believe in ghosts?

I have never seen one with my own two eyes...

Ever been addicted to a video/computer game? Which one(s)?

Hmmmm.. when I get a new game I am addicted to it for like 1 month then I never pick it up again. Oops. My husband -- complete opposite. He has a video game addiction for sure.

You're given 1 million dollars, what do you spend it on?

Me and Ryan discuss this allll the time! Donate to MANY, MANY charities and churchs. We have a few in mind. ;) Then buy cars and houses for friends and family and pay off bills and move out of Texas to Colorado and save, save, save.

List 1 thing you wish you could change about yourself.

Any tattoos or piercings?

Just my ears pierced.

What's the first thing you notice in the opposite sex?

3. Have TWINS! That's right..I want twins!

Tuesday's Top Ten

This Tuesday is: Myths!

The Top 10 Most Popular Medical Myths

There is somthing so fascinating to me about myths. The Google definition is: myth -a traditional story accepted as history; serves to explain the world view of a people.

It is so amazing to me that SO many people could believe one thing for so long.. and it end up not even being true! It kinda scares me too! ;)

I came across this list on TOP10LIST.ORG about the top 10 most popular medical myths and I thought I would share. I am aware that everyone has different opinions about every subject and that one scientist or doctor or whoever will say one thing and another will say the complete opposite. I just think these kind of things are neat to look at and ponder!

1. Sugar makes children hyper.

People all over the world are sure of the fact that if children eat too many sugar-coated candies, they will start jumping around and tire themselves out in no time. However, this is not true. Most children are naturally hyper and if they like to bounce up and down on the bed, it has nothing to do with the cereal they ate for breakfast.

2. Most of the body heat is lost through the head.

A study was carried out on people who were subjected to very low temperatures. The verdict was that they lost most of their body heat through their heads. One fact was ignored- the soldiers were fully clothed but their heads were exposed.

3. Everybody should drink 8 glasses of water everyday.

This myth came into being because a certain Government agency during the 1940s declared that a human being should consume 8 glasses of fluid on daily basis. Over the years, the ‘fluid’ part was pushed out and replaced with ‘water’. Basically, it is okay if you do not drink 8 glasses of water every day as long as you keep yourself hydrated.

4. If you swallow chewing gum, it will leave your system after 7 years.

This myth is as ridiculous as the one which says that if you swallow a fruit seed, a tree will grow in your stomach. Even though gum does not get digested by the human digestive system, it will leave the system quite easily.

5. If you crack your knuckles, you will develop arthritis when you are older

When you crack your knuckles and hear the sound, it only means that the gas bubbles are bursting. The above mentioned myth is not true and the worst thing that can happen is that your finger joints will get weak by the time you are 70.

6. When babies teeth, they will develop a fever.

Many parents are sure that when their babies start teething, they will also develop a fever. However, there is no relation between the two and if your baby happens to have a fever while he is growing a new set of teeth, you should take him to the doctor to find out the cause.

7. Cancer does not get treated.

Many people feel that chemotherapy will only make them weaker and ultimately the cancer will kill them. However, fact is that while 90% of all children with leukemia died about 30 years ago, today 80% manage to win the battle against the disease.

8. If your back hurts, you should lie down for a few weeks.

This is quite a dangerous myth and studies reveal that if patients do not go about their lives normally and take to bed rest, the pain will actually worsen.

9. If you eat turkey, you will fall asleep.

People believe that if they eat too much turkey, they will fall asleep for several hours because the meat contains tryptophan. This myth came about because people tend to get very sleepy after a heavy Thanksgiving meal but this happens because the food is laced with butter and fat and not because of the tryptophan!

10. If you eat before you sleep at night, you will put on weight.

Fact is that if you eat a lot but do not exercise, you will put on weight but if you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. There are no two ways about it.

What do you think about all of this?!

Thanks to !

Weekend in Pics (and words!)

Hello Hello! I had a super lazy weekend which I totally enjoyed.

I watched lots of movies with my sweetie Spike --

Axel doesn't like watching movies with us -- he would rather look out the window and bark! So here is a pic of him and hubby just for good measure. ;)

Spike and I watched --

I enjoyed these movie. They weren't THE BEST MOVIE EVER but they were cute little movies to watch on a lazy saturday while hubby was at work!

Saturday night we went to a friends house to sit by a fire and relax some more. This is me and hubs all bundled up!

It didn't take long for the ladies to get too cold -- so we went inside and ordered a pizza and a movie. (I KNOW RIGHT! - THIRD MOVIE OF THE DAY!)

We LOVED this movie. Very suspensful, and kinda scary in my opinion! We screamed ATLEAST 6 times throughtout the movie.

Sunday, we had a birthday party to go to for this sweet little girl --

That's Miss Emilee. Ryan's step-brothers daughter. She is ADORABLE!

After the party, my sweet hubby surprised me and took me to BOOKS-A-MILLION! YAY!

BaM has a section towards the back on Hard Back Fiction books on sale -- I love to get them and read them (of course) then take off the cover and store them in my bookself! These books are reguarly $20-$30 and I got them for $7.97 and $5.97!

Then, if that wasn't enough movie watching -- Ryan and I watched one of our favorite movies before bed last night -- BOOK OF ELI -- if you have not seen this movie YOU MUST!! It is ammmazing.

That brings us to right now -- Monday morning -- BOOOOO. ;(

Here's to a good week... please?!?!

The Golden Girls

How I love them!

The Golden Girls is my favorite all time show. I have been watching them since Middle School and am pretty sure I have seen every single episode. I have seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 on DVD. I got the fourth season this christmas (THANKS MIL!) and have already watched all the episodes twice. ;) I am still trying to get my hands on seasons 5, 6, 7, and 8!

If you don't watch should..immediatly. They are soo funny and I have actually gotten my hubby to like them too!

I like Blanche the best...

While Ryan likes Sophia the best...

They are all hilarious and I haven't found an episode I didn't like! I watch them ATLEAST 4 times a week and have EVERY episode that comes on tv set to DVR. (Which Ryan isnt TOO thrilled about b/c it takes up LOTS of our space!)

Some of my favorites quotes:

Dorothy: Oh c'mon, Blanche. Age is just a state of mind.
Blanche: Tell that to my thighs.
Dorothy: Rose, I know this is a long shot, but did you take much acid during the sixties?
Dorothy: You'll have to excuse my mother. She suffered a slight stroke a few years ago which rendered her totally annoying.
Blanche: What do you think of my new dress? Is it me?
Sophia: It's too tight, it's too short and shows too much cleavage for a woman your age.
Dorothy: Yes, Blanche. It's you.

HAHAHA I just laugh out loud when I read these because I can see all of there facial expressions as there saying them. I wish they were all still alive and still made the show!

Anyway, pretty pointless post BUT it was fun..right?!?..right??!?!?!

Step-mommy..Thats Me!

September 25, 2010 changed my life forever. I became a wife. I realize I spoke of my wedding in my last post but maybe it's because I'm a newlywed! I think about it a lot and am still SO thrilled to be married to my dream guy.

Not only did I become a wife but I became a step-mommy too. This thrills me to death! I don't have any children of my own YET so maybe thats why I am so addicted to my 5 year old step-daughter.

The word step-mom just seems bad to me. I don't know why I think that because I love my step-mom to pieces but I feel like the world around us gives step-parents a bad name. Is it just me?

Anyway! I try to be the best step-mommy I can -- without acting like her "mom". I KNOW I am not her "mom" and I do not EVER want her to think that. I want her to love her mom VERY MUCH and know that I am her step-mom and love me very much too!

Hannah (yes we have the same name!) is the sweetest ray of sunshine I have ever met! Her and Ryan (my hubby) together make me smile and laugh constantly! I just adore my sweet little family so much!

This may sounds crazy, but when I first realized I was going to become a step-mom I started researching! I have an issue with looking EVERYTHING up on Google -- including how to be the best step-mom in the world! HaHa. (It was my first time as a parent figure; I was nervous!) Anywho, I came across the Top Ten Tips to Being a Good Stepmom that I saved on my computer and refer back to quit often.

They are:

1.Remember you are not their mom. ---I think I have this one down pretty good so far. I make Ryan do ALL the disciplining. (spelling anyone?!?!) I try to never overstep my boundaries!

2.Try To Keep Communication Open Between Families. ---Working on this one. ;)

3.Do Not Talk Bad About The Other Family ---NEVER, NEVER, NEVER. This is a BIG time rule in our house! If the other family is brought up we only speak VERY HIGHLY of them!

4.Be Involved In Her School Activities As Much As You Can. ---Just joined the PTCO (PTA)!! Super Excited!!

5.Love Them For Who They Are. ---Love, Love Her

6.Don't Compare Them To your Own Child. ---None yet!

7.Realize You Will Make Mistakes. ---Very true, very true.

8.Serve As A Mediator Not An Instigator. ---I Like This One!!

9.Be Involved In Their Lives. ---Ryan and I are VERY active in Hannah's life and will continue to be FOREVER!!

10.Learn From Their Lives. ---No Doubt.

I think coming from a split family with both a step-mom and step-dad I had a head start. I know how both families feel, I know how Hannah feels, so I try my hardest to be considerate of everyones feelings!

If you have any tips or advice for me...SHARE!! I love learning and trying out new things. If you know someone that is a step-mom or soon to be one..share this with them! I betcha they will appreciate it!

:) HJC
